ETS Training in Nakhon Sawan

ETS103On August 27, 2016 our Lutheran Hour Ministries Thailand (LHMT) director and staff conducted an Equipping the Saints (ETS) evangelism training at Nakhon Sawan Church in Nakhon Sawan Province.  This was the first time our LHMT team did a ministry program in that area.

A total of 27 members from 5 churches participated in the workshop.  We were disappointed that we didn’t reach the expected total of 60 attendees, but we were very thankful for those who were able to come.  Our team taught the usual ETS modules about how and why we do evangelism and provided several practical ideas about how they could share their faith with their family and friends.

We enjoyed having a time of worship together, eating lunch together and singing and doing fun activities with those who attended the workshop.  Since we didn’t know anyone from that group before the training, this was a good opportunity to interact personally with them and to begin building relationships.

At the end of the day we got very good feedback from everyone.  They were happy to learn more about doing outreach to people in their communities who don’t know Jesus and 18 people became LHMT commissioned volunteers.  Also, 30 people asked to begin receiving encouraging Gospel text messages from us every week on their mobile phones.

Our team was very encouraged when the leader of the women’s ministry at the church asked about the possibility of our LHMT team helping to conduct a women’s camp for them in the future.  We are interested in doing that and will continue talking with them about this.

We thank God for safe travel, for blessing our ETS program and interactions with the participants and for the possibility of working with them again in the future.
