School Association Helps LHMT with Christmas School Outreach

On December 16, 2014 the Lutheran Hour Ministries Thailand (LHMT) director and staff spent the day at Tessaban 6 Wat Choengkhao School in Saraburi Province. From 9:00-10:30 a.m. the LHMT team did a Christmas program for 155 students in grades 2-6.

The children really enjoyed singing the Christmas songs and learned them very quickly. They also had a good time doing the fun activities led by the team. There was lots of laughter and cheering as the students eagerly joined in.

In addition to sharing the Christmas message through the songs and activities, the team showed the “Red Boots for Christmas” video to the students and did a follow-up activity to be sure that they fully understood the true meaning of Christmas.

After a break for lunch the LHMT team returned to Tessaban 6 Wat Choengkhao School to do a Christmas program from 1:00-2:30 p.m. for 67 students in grades 7-9. Although this was not one of the larger groups, the students had a lot of enthusiasm and were happy to join in with the Christmas songs and activities. They also did a good job of learning the true meaning of Christmas from the activity that used the letters in the word “Christmas” to explain the true meaning of Christmas.

One thing that made this day special was working with the 4 churches in that area that worked together to arrange the schedule and assist the LHMT team. The four churches were Rungarun Saraburi Church, Pantasanya Church, Prakun Prajaew Church and Praporn Prajaew Romyen Church. These churches have formed an association and meet together every month to pray together. They also will work together to conduct follow-up activities with the students and teachers from Tessaban 6 Wat Choengkhao School.
