A Day Filled with Sharing the Gospel through Christmas Presentations

In cooperation with Sampan Tachang Church and ACET Thailand the Lutheran Hour Ministries Thailand (LHMT) director and staff did four Christmas programs at three schools in Singburi Province on December 12, 2014.

The first program was at Promburi Ratchadapisake School.  The LHMT team did a presentation from 8:00-9:30 a.m. for 200 students in grades 7-12.  They shared the true meaning of Christmas with the students and teachers by using the letters of the word “Christmas”.

The students loved doing the fun activities and singing the Christmas songs and would have liked to continue the program longer.  Unfortunately, the LHMT had a tight schedule and had to quickly take down their equipment, pack everything in the van and travel to Wat Praprangmuni School.

The program at Wat Praprangmuni School was scheduled from 10:30 a.m. until noon for all students in grades 1-9.  Because the presentation for the younger children is somewhat different from the presentation for the older students, the LHMT team divided into two groups.

Both groups led the students in some fun activities and singing Christmas songs, but didn’t do the same Christmas presentation.  The group that was with the 78 students in grades 1-6 used the “Red Boots for Christmas” video and the group that was with the 20 students in grades 7-9 used the letters from the word “Christmas” to share the true meaning of Christmas.

After a short lunch break the LHMT and members of Sampan Tachang Church and ACET Thailand drove to Sriwinit Wittayakom School.  The enthusiasm from the 143 students in grades 7-9 gave extra energy to the LHMT, so the afternoon program went a little longer than usual.  From 1:00-3:00 p.m. the LHMT team once again led the activities and Christmas songs.

After using the letters from the word “Christmas” to explain the meaning of Christmas, the team checked to see if the students truly understood what was presented.  They were very happy to discover that the students did learn why Christmas is such an important holiday for Christians.  The Christmas story is not really about Santa Claus and reindeer.  The true story is about the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came for all people.
