Connecting with a Donor

While we conducted the Equipping the Saints (ETS) training in Muang District in Chiang Rai on November 22, 2014, we learned that one church that has been supporting LHMT for many years was located 30-40 minutes away in a nearby district.  The ETS coordinator, Miss Sumitra, telephoned to Pastor Kosone Yongsuntornroong and arranged for us to visit Pasuke Church and to meet some of the church members.

Pastor Kosone and the church elders encourage their church members to donate to our Lutheran Hour Ministries Thailand (LHMT) ministry.  The pastor and elders collect their donations and send the money to our ministry center in Bangkok.  Whenever we receive their donations we are encouraged to see the list of names of the members.

When we arrived at the church after dark, some of the donors were waiting to meet us.  Because it was the first time for us to visit the church, the LHMT director introduced the team to the church members and explained in more detail about our ministry programs.  We gave them some ministry materials, including Bible Correspondence Course booklets and music VCDs and animations, that we hope they will be able to use with their church ministry activities.

During our meeting that evening we learned that a 6.3 magnitude earthquake had hit that area on May 5, 2014.  The Pasuke Church building was destroyed.  The pastor and church members are determined to rebuild their church on that site.  They are in the process of raising money to pay for the materials and construction work.

Our LHMT team will be praying for their rebuilding program and we look forward to strengthening our relationships and working with them again in the future.  Please remember them in your prayers.
