New Connection Through ETS Training

The Lutheran Hour Ministries Thailand (LHMT) director and staff traveled to Chiang Rai Province in northern Thailand to conduct an Equipping the Saints (ETS) training on November 22, 2014. Hosted by Songsermsart Church the training was attended by 48 members of 4 churches and 1 preaching station.

The original plan included having many youth also participate in the training. Unfortunately, the students had a special testing program at school that they had to do that same day, so they were unable to attend. A number of adults also missed the training, because they were busy with their rice harvest.

From the beginning of the program at 8:30 a.m. until the closing at 5:00 p.m. the LHMT director and staff experienced a very warm welcome from the participants and the local people showed their great personalities. Everyone enjoyed building good relationships through the teaching sessions, special activities, songs and personal interaction times.

At the end of the day 18 people asked to become LHMT commissioned volunteers and 39 participants signed up to begin receiving the encouraging Gospel text messages on their mobile phones.

We’re happy that the local people got to know our LHMT staff and ministry programs better and we are hopeful that we’ll be able to work together with them again in the future.

  1. I am glad to see Boom in her work with LHMT. It reminds me of the old days in Bangkok at the CGM Center! I will pray for the ministry of LHMT. Thank you for your inspirational and educational posts! Barb Bowditch
