Small But Enthusiastic

???????????????????????????????Pradamri Borwin Church, in Sriracha District, Chonburi Province was the location of the most recent Lutheran Hour Ministries Thailand (LHMT) Equipping the Saints (ETS) training, which was held on March 8, 2014.  Because the church is only 150 kilometers (90 miles) from Bangkok, the LHMT director and staff were able to return that same night.

A total of 26 church members from Pradamri Borwin Church and Christian Borwin Preaching Station joined the training.  Although the group was smaller than usual for an ETS training, the LHMT team were happy that they made the 2-hour trip.  Everyone was very eager to learn and they all participated very enthusiastically in the discussions and activities.

From 9:00 am until 5:30 pm the LHMT team followed the normal 7-module format for the training.  In addition to the information that they received during the modules, the participants really appreciated the times when they worked together on the discussion questions. The questions were very practical and helped them think about specific ways of doing outreach in their communities.  The discussion questions included, “Who are the lost in your community?”  “Why do you think that they’re lost?”  “What kind of direction can we use to help them get found?”

The group was very thankful for the colorful Gospel bracelets that the LHMT team gave them.  They look forward to using this practical witnessing tool to tell their friends and family members about Jesus.

The participants enjoyed the singing and fun activities throughout the day.  In addition to providing breaks from the serious material they were learning, the church members experienced how these activities helped them to get to know each other better.

At the end of the day the LHMT team received very good feedback from the participants.  They asked the LHMT team to return and do a 2-day training in the future with more fun activities that they can adapt to use for doing outreach in their communities.  They also asked for 30 sets of the adult Bible Correspondence Course and Children’s Bible Correspondence Course.

We thank God for safe travel and for blessing the training.  We look forward to having more contact with the 17 participants who asked to become LHMT commissioned volunteers and the 23 people who joined the text messaging program.
