Through a personal friend of one of the Lutheran Hour Ministries Thailand (LHMT) staff, the LHMT team was invited to conduct a special program for children of families in the Army Communication Battalion living in Saphan Mai, Bangkok on Children’s Day.

From 7:00 am until 9:00 am on January 11, 2014 more than 70 children and parents enjoyed participating in a variety of fun games and activities and singing songs. To make the day even more fun for the children, both the LHMT team and local residents prepared prizes for the children.

The LHMT was able to begin building relationships with the families and informed the parents about the various ministries of LHMT. The team shared the Gospel with the children and parents, encouraged the children and told them how they could grow up to be good people. At the end of the program the LHMT staff prayed for the children.

In previous years the commander of the Battalion had planned and conducted the Children’s Day program in their neighborhood. They told the LHMT team that this year’s program was much better than the ones they had planned and asked if LHMT could return next year to conduct another Children’s Day program in their community.

We thank God for this opportunity to help and encourage this army community and to share the Gospel with them. We look forward to following up with them in the coming months.
