On November 30, 2013 the Lutheran Hour Ministries Thailand (LHMT) team traveled to Sampan Prasirit Church in Muang Lop Buri to conduct an Equipping the Saints evangelistic training.  The day was special, because Pastor Mongkonchai Ardsomboon hosted the training.  Both Pastor Mongkonchai and his wife are former staff members at LHMT.

Although 8 churches participated in the training, only 17 people attended.  For this training each church sent just a core group of people who were the most interested in doing evangelism.  In spite of the fact that the group was small, 7 people signed up to be LHMT commissioned volunteers and 16 joined the program to receive encouraging Gospel text messages on their cell phones each week.

The LHMT staff did the usual 7 training modules and some fun songs.  The people who attended were very enthusiastic and really appreciated receiving the training.  They found the ideas that were shared that day to be very practical and useful for witnessing to their non-Christian family and friends.

One church wants some of their children and adults to begin studying the LHMT Bible Correspondence Courses, so that their faith and understanding of the Bible can be deepened.  The BCC can also be used to help unbelievers learn more about who Jesus is and what he has done for them.

All of the participants asked LHMT to follow up with them after one month to see how the training is working for them in their communities.  LHMT staff plan to contact them again through letters and possibly with another visit.

Those who attended said that they would like to see the ETS training expanded.  They thought that one day wasn’t enough for them to learn everything well.  They hope that in the future LHMT will make the ETS training a two-day program.

We thank God for the successful training and for the very positive feedback from everyone who participated.
